Round Up of the Week

NFL
I got half of my predictions right this week haha
Biggest regret though was that I took Jerome Harrison out of my fantasy team in the NFL. I still won my game though because of a brilliant performance by Aaron Rodgers.

Cricket
The Aussies were lucky in the Perth Test against the West Indies. Its pretty safe to say that if Chris Gayle played in the second innings with anywhere the amount of skill he played with in the first innings the Aussies would have been in trouble. If it was South Africa playing Australia I think the result might have been different.
I have to admit, I didn't like Shane Watson one bit since he played for Australia and since he has been put in the spotlight as the player that could replace Andrew Symonds as Australia next all rounder. I thought as a player and a person he seemed cocky, extremely arrogant and thinking he was better than anyone else. The way he celebrated his wickets against the West Indians confirmed my suspicions, this guy is a dickhead. Everyone (including me) has an enormous amount of respect for Chris Gayle because of his laidback attitude and amazing eye for hitting the ball. For Shane Watson to react after getting Gayle out was not on and his arrogance is coming out because he stands by what he said. As well as his reaction after he got Deonarine or Nash, I don't know which one where he was kneeling on the ground and looking to the sky.
As for Ricky Ponting, mate you are a champion. It takes a lot of balls to come out after being taken to the hospital from being hit by a couple of nasty balls. Just confirms yet again why Australian cricket needs a hard nosed captain like Ricky Ponting not just a pin up boy like Michael Clarke.

NHL
Just a quick one, congrats to Martin Brodeur who became the all time leader in shutouts yesterday against my favourite teams the Penguins

NFL Week 15

Just started my account so here's a loosener

This year of gridiron so far has brought a lot of surprises and some things we saw coming

The surprises included:

- The downfall of Adrian Peterson - This year he hasn't produced to the standard that many people thought he would particularly of late and has been a major disappointment to the majority of people that took him as the number one pick on their fantasy challenges.

- The dramatic awakening of Cincinnati - We knew the Bengals were a good team, but when a reinvigorated Cedric Benson carried the team with support of Carson Palmer and a good D

- Green Bay's highly criticised move by their new defensive coordinator to change their defense from a 4-3 to a 3-4 scheme worked after a few games and their defense has back up an explosive offense lead by one of my fantasy player's Aaron Rodgers

- Also the dramatic downward spiral of the Steelers and Patriots - Everyone expected the Steelers to win the whole thing again and the Patriots to make the 2nd round of the playoffs. Steelers will miss out and the Patriots will get pipped at the post by the Dolphins because of their strange and amazingly awful decisions being made by that team

Stuff we saw coming:

- The Dolphins to continue to improve - An injury to Chad Pennington opened up the doors to their future quarterback Chad Henne and from being 0-3 they are 7-6 and have won 4 out of their last 5 games and I think that know one thinks that they are serious contenders this year so i hope (being my favourite team) they can give it a shake in the playoffs this year to prove they are a good team.
- We knew that the Chargers were good - And they proved that they are still in their prime but it isn't LT that is carrying their offense any more it's possibly the NFL's MVP Phillip Rivers, this guy has came of age and played like the type of player he could have been and fortunately for the Chargers that could have been is now and being only 26, Rivers and the chargers could and should enter a golden era in their history.
- We also knew that the Colts and Saints were good - If you told anyone who could be the 2 undefeated teams by week 15 and i think the majority of people would have said these 2 teams, 2 unbelievable quarterbacks leading 2 great offenses and backed up by 2 brilliant defenses it would be a shame to see these two teams not meet each other in the Super Bowl
- How bad can Oakland get? - I can't believe that they still have JaMarcus Russell in their on their roster, He's an embarrassment

Best Player's up to week 15:
Chris Johnson - He should win MVP but the quarterbacks rule when it comes to this award unfortunately. I hope this guy breaks the record for most rushing yards in a season because he is on fire. Forget AP this guy is where it is at right now.
Peyton Manning - This guy is the main reason why the Colts are undefeated, him and Reggie Wayne connect on several occasions in clutch situations. Manning is a future Hall of Famer and probably deserves to win another MVP.
Drew Brees - This guy always dominates defenses and picks them apart with a combination of runs and passes hasn't played as well in the past weeks so he won't win the MVP I think
Charles Woodson - If there was any defensive player that could win the MVP that would be Charles Woodson. He is an interception machine and he adapted to Dom Capers new scheme the best and it has done wonders to him. This guy could be the X factor for the Packers in the plaoffs along with Ryan Grant.

Predictions this week:
I would have gone for the Colts to beat the Jags
Dallas to upset the Saints because this game means so much to them compared to the Saint
The Bills will win against the the indifferent Pats
Cleveland should be the awful Chiefs if they can keep Jamaal Charles under 100 yards
The Eagles to thrash the 49ers and end their slim playoff chances
Houston to beat the Rams
Miami to beat the Titans in the game of the week, 2 desparate teams normally means a really good game
The Thomas Jones machine should roll over the Falcons
Kurt Warner will lead the Card's to thrash the Lions
Oakland hasn't got a chance against the desparate Broncos team
Cincy and the San Diego game should be a beauty but i think that my pick for the Super Bowl ( The Chargers) should win in OT
Baltimore over the Bears
Green Bay should win comfortably against the Steelers
The Buc's are playing shithouse so I'd have to go with the Seahawks to win
Minnesota to beat the Panthers comfortably
And finally the Ginats to get their playoff campaign back on track against the Redskins

Anything you disagree with have you're say
